FRIDAY FAVORITES.

Happy Friday! We made it to the long weekend. I said a few weeks ago I would try to be more consistent on here and I did that for maybe a week. From today thru the end summer, I’ll just be blogging Fridays. I want to soak up all of summer I can with the girls, but still be able to blog the memories of it so that seems like the best plan for now.

Today I’m linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites.

We snuck in some massive amounts of family time over the last weekend. Brandon took a few days of work so some we spent by the pool, and then we also headed to Discovery Playhouse. It’s been years since we had been there, and they now have an upstairs geared towards 8-12 year olds. The girls thought it was a good way to kickoff summer.

Over the weekend we grilled a ton. Grilled food is a family favorite over here always, but we topped our plain burgers with a jalapeno popper inspired dip and it was a favorite for 3/4 of us. It would be great for this weekend or any summer meal really.

Here’s  what I did(no real measurements as it’s all to your liking)…

a cream cheese block

7 sliced of bacon or so (we used microwavable to be quick and it was good)

diced jalapenos (finely chopped is what we prefer)

shredded cheddar (we left this out because we had none that day)

Mix it all together and top burgers with it.

Easy and Delicious!

A favorite this summer…Ellie has been mowing our yard for a year or 2 now for some money. She will tell you she doesn’t like to mow, but likes to make money;) Well this year she’s back in business but has now picked up our neighbors yard, and also asked my uncle (her great uncle) if she could mow the church lot he’s in charge of by our house. This girl has a whole hustle going and it’s fun to watch her be excited about earning her spending money.

Are you guys Aldi people? We are. Like stalk the ads for the finds days before they come out so I know if I need to be there when they open on a Wednesday kind of people. I grabbed these planters a few weeks ago there for a great price! We’d been looking for cheap planters for our new porch for awhile but the price tag on most kept us from it. These are great quality, and while I really wanted the gray, the brown will do. They will be a favorite for years to come.

Ok if you’re a plant person, this probably won’t impress you much, but a hydrangea coming up for year 2 in our yard is a big favorite (and accomplishment) for me. We have several year 2 or 3 plants that have all come back and I feel like I might be becoming a decent plant person. Ha! Jury is still out but I’m much better at keeping them alive than I use to be. That’s for sure.

Side note, as it’s Memorial Day weekend…Our family appreciates all that have served and given their lives for our freedom. We remember them.

That’s it for this week. I’ll be back next Friday!
