Happy Friday! It’s been one for the books around here this week…
Last Sunday evening we had our annual “back to school brinner”. It’s a time where we get excited for school, pray and set goals for the year. We love this tradition so much! It could be any meal, but breakfast is fun and easy and I have offered to change up the menu in years past, but no one is ready for that just yet;) We keep the leftovers for a quick first day breakfast and it works well for us.
Monday morning (this is the first year we’ve started school on a Monday and we aren’t fans;) they were up and ready. Back to school brings all the feels to our house but for the most part everyone was excited.
They had great first days. Avery says the 4th grade bathroom is massive, and Ellie wasn’t late or lost at high school, so we call that a win.
On Wednesday, the high school choir got the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the Cardinal game! We had known it was the same week as school starting for awhile, but when you get a chance you take it, so we lived wild on a school night:) They were excited the morning of…
Brandon and I both worked half a day, and then we picked up some caffeine and thing 2 from school early to hit the road to St. Louis and also meet up with Ellie…
It was both of our girls first game. Avery watched a show on Ozzie Smith this summer, and basically he’s her favorite. So when we came across this statue of him, she had to have it documented. She may have yelled Ozzie a time or 2 looking for the real deal, but unfortunately she struck out;)
We got inside and met the grandparents who were quick to hit the gift shop for a bear or 2…
Then it was time for the Anthem…
My sister and her boyfriend live in St. Louis, and they came to support as well… they also hit the gift shop when they heard Avery talking about the “burger phone” and how she “was going to go home with a ball”. Avery said it was like Christmas. Ha.
The Cardinals lost big time, but it was a great night.
And if your looking for me I’ll be napping all weekend to make up for this week;)
