Happy Friday! It’s no secret we have a girl who loves to read around here (and the other is a work in progress but we are finally getting somewhere!)
I thought today we’d change it up and I’d let Ellie guest write for me (she did all the summaries herself and I just added the images/links). If your looking for a book recommendation for your middle schooler, maybe some of these would peak their interests;)
This is a 2021 Newberry winner, this book is about a girl who has to trap a tiger in order to save her grandma. It is a sweet story about family.
Christopher Boone, an Autistic but smart 15 year old has to find out who killed their neighbor’s dog. This is a great one if you like mysteries.
This is one of my favorite books, it’s entertaining. It’s about 4 orphans… Sticky, Reynie, Constance and Kate who have to go to an institute to save the world.
After Violet, Klaus, and Sunny’s house is burnt down, they have to escape Count Olaf and his terrible plan to steal their fortune. This is a great suspenseful drama.
This is the biography of the person who wrote a series of unfortunate events.
Now, if you’re looking for how she reads all of these, they typically come from our local library (which is the best library!) or we also have a Kindle Unlimited Subscription that we pay monthly for and we “rent” books which we can rotate on and off that list. We all use the unlimited subscription on our kindles, phones etc. In the summer and swim season, you will typically find Ellie in the pool reading on her Kindle Paperwhite which we got her as a gift a few years ago. It’s waterproof (even when submerged, she’s done it) and the battery life is impressive. She still prefers a paperback book first, but for the pool, camping or car rides likes the Kindle for accessibility.
*Side note: These are associate links, meaning if you click on one and make a purchase I get a very small commission. We have to keep up with Ellies book habit somehow;) Our family is always grateful for your support in this way or when you buy from a link I’ve shared.
